NAACP ANNUAL SOUL FOOD DINNER, THUNDER SEASON OPENER , MAKING STRIDES TO END BREAST CANCER WALK, FALL FEST AT WEST MOUNTAIN WITH BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS, TIME WITH FRIENDS AND CONTINUING TO MEET VOTERS

After spending Friday evening with friends in Brant Lake, Wanda and I started our weekend by showing our support for our local NAACP Chapter at the Annual Soul Food Dinner. These folks sure know how to cook a great Southern meal. No one left hungry. Thank you everyone who took part in this event, and for the incredible hospitality and laughs.

It was great to see hockey back on the ice in Glens Falls. The Adirondack Thunder season opener drew a huge crowd and was an exciting game despite the loss with 3.8 seconds left!

Sunday we started the day like we always do, at Church. After church we headed to the annual Making Strides To End Breast Cancer walk, where Wanda, my littler brother Austen and I walked in honor of my dad, and in memory of my mother. The Queensbury volleyball program raised about $34,000! Way to go girls!

Austen and I then hustled up to West Mountain for their Fall Festival with Big Brothers Big Sisters. The haunted hay ride was a blast. Hats off to the Montgomery family for all that you do for our community. We at Big Brothers Big Sisters greatly appreciate your generosity. Thank you everyone for your continued words of encouragement. We are nearing the final stretch and all of your kind words are most appreciated.

Walk to end Alzheimer's, Power of Pink Volleyball Tournament, Cedar Seniors Craft Fair, Charles Evans Hughes Day, Elk's Lodge German Fest, Hockey, Oscar's 70th Anniversary, and of course meeting voters.

Wanda and I had to divide and conquer Saturday morning. While Wanda was enjoying Owen's hockey game, I took part in the annual walk to end Alzheimer's in Glens Falls with about 500 others. This walk was especially special to me after recently losing Wanda's dad to this disease. It was incredibly moving to see all of the support for this great cause. It was then off to Queensbury High School for some volleyball at the Power of Pink tournament. Incredible talent! Wanda and I then reunited and met with some talented craters at the Cedar Seniors Craft Fair, before attending a wonderful event at the Hyde museum in honor of the Hon. Thomas Mercure. A fine choice for the Charles Evans Hughes Award. A well deserved honor. It was then off to the Elks Lodge for German Fest and some delicious authentic German food by Sue Cannavan. The service was top notch as well. We love our fellow Elks. They do such a great job.

Sunday morning started with more hockey and then it was off to Warrensburg to Celebrate Oscar's Smokehouse's 70th Anniversary with some more delicious food. Thank you to everyone that we met this weekend, and for your encouraging words of support.

Birthday Dinner with the Family, Great Brant Lake Duck Race, Thurman Fall Farm Tours, Kissed by a goat, Double H Hole in the Woods fundraiser, Fire Victims fundraiser, homecoming, comedy show and Queensbury Lacrosse.

We started our weekend Friday at Mikado's celebrating Owen and my birthdays. The hibachi is always yummy.

On Saturday Wanda and I had a blast visiting with our up-county voters in Horicon and Thurman at the annual Brant Lake pancake breakfast and duck race and Thurman Fall Farm Tour. The breakfast at the Horicon Firehouse was delicious and a fantastic way to start the day. It was great to see some of our many supporters again and hear their encouraging words. Thank you Horicon for hosting another great event.

Thurman has provided Wanda and I with a lot of wonderful memories this campaign. We enjoyed Jax Wax and maple syrup in the spring, square danced, listened to great music and watched fireworks in the summer and toured the many farms in the fall. Along the way we have met some incredibly industrious and kind people. We had hoped to make the Queensbury football game but we're just having too much fun in Thurman to leave. The ladies of the quilting club had us in stitches. It was also nice to meet Irv West and talk about some of the issues facing our troubled youth. I'm looking forward to reading his book "Breaking the Rules". We also were happy to attend a "barn party" in support of Double H Hole in the Woods. Thank you Thurman for always making us feel welcome.

We were also proud to be able to show our support for the Y.F.A.K. Fundraiser. Yvonne, Frank, Andy and Kieran lost everything in a recent fire in Glens Falls. It was sad to hear of the loss of their pets. We then joined our son Owen and his friends at the West Mountain Ski Center for some homecoming dance pictures. Thank you Sara and Spencer Montgomery for being great hosts. We then attended a comedy show with our fellow elks at the Elks Lodge.

Sunday, we spent the day with Owen watching his Lacrosse team go undefeated in a tournament in Guilderland. The boys looked great! Thank you everyone for the continued kind words of support. #EveryFamilyMatters
